Why Do You Go to SpiritQuest?
« on: March 08, 2010, 05:01:00 PM »
Okay Friends,

I figure it is my turn to ask a question. Over the years, lots of incredible people, like you, have come to SpiritQuest either to quest, or to support people in their quests.

Some of you have been coming for years. And a few of you have been to as many as 12 SpiritQuests!!!

Clearly, something is happening for you or you wouldn't be returning. So, I'm hoping you will share with all of us that visit the Forums—Why do you go to SpiritQuest?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
Reverend Misa

Misa,

It is sometimes challenging but always a joy to translate my experience of sacred gatherings into language!  In truth, there is no one way to describe SpiritQuest other than as a grand adventure.  I suspect that it holds a special meaning to each person who is called to step into the unknown and partake of the richness that can be found by responding to our heart's calling.

SpiritQuest is an opportunity to dip my cup into the Great Well of the Divine Mystery. It is a gathering of pure-hearted people, a small and beloved community of individuals who choose to devote their time and presence to honoring the sacred journey of life that can only be experienced when one or more are gathered in a sacred way.

Rev. Misa, elders of the sacred ways, and those who come to celebrate each bring a special gift to the gathering. It is a remembering of traditional ways that have been honored throughout time. It is a communion with nature around us, with fire, water, and air, and with the nature within us. When we come together to honor each other in this way, all the elements conspire to assist us in a grand adventure and personal discovery. A great web is formed connecting past, present and future, opening dimensions of life beyond our ordinary experience and comprehension. Our gathering provides us an opportunity to step outside of the mundane, and partake of the extraordinary elixirs of life.

SpiritQuest is an opportunity to dip my cup into the Great Well of the Divine Mystery. To sip the sweet nectar from this cup is to open my senses, my awareness, my understanding, and my heart to possibilities of love that I have yearned for. It is a place where the possibilities of heaven on earth are imprinted upon the pages of my heart.

I did not exactly know what to expect my first time at Spirit Quest.  I was hungry for connection with myself, with Spirit and with the land.  I did find all of these things, but what struck me most, and what has kept me coming back, is the authentic community that forms during that week.  This is a space to practice REAL community with the support of an incredible intercessor (Misa) and a strong Spiritual framework.

Since my first experience, I have both supported the camp (as Camp Mother) and been supported by it (Questing), and have come home each year in a new, deeper place on my personal spiritual path.

Thank you!
Kelly
